Around and about #1

[pt] Quando vou fazer caminhadas, com ou sem geocaching, tenho optado por levar a point & shoot em vez da DSLR. Não é só uma questão de carregar menos peso mas uma questão de ser mais prático e rápido. Na verdade se for para desfrutar de uma caminhada, e que ainda por cima envolve fazer caches, não faz sentido perder tempo, porque se perde, a fazer fotografia.

Com a point & shoot acabo por trazer algumas fotos do local sem perder muito tempo. E mesmo assim já é complicado porque acabo por andar com as duas mãos sempre ocupadas. Claro que a qualidade e a técnica acabam por não se distinguir mas todas as escolhas têm os seus contras. Tento mentalizar-me que assim aproveito mais o momento, não me tornando escrava de equipamento, e que acaba por ser um reconhecimento de território.

De outras experiências que tive em que dei mais relevância a trazer fotos o sentimento de não ter aproveitado o local/momento foi maior. Ultimamente tenho feito assim dependendo da hora do dia e o percurso que vou fazer. Vamos ver quanto tempo me aguento em andar mais com a point & shoot.

Sobre o percurso em si foi uma pequena caminhada que envolvia fazer algumas caches, como foi no final do dia e era por pinhal apenas se iniciou este trajeto. Trata-se de um grupo de 80 caches que pretende dar a conhecer o Caminho Interior Português de Santiago pelo concelho de Viseu (CPIS-V). Não sei se este percurso tem muitos caminhantes, a paisagem não é muito diferente do que estamos habituados, o certo é que a energia é muito leve ao longo do trilho, se é que me entendem!

[en] When I go out for hiking, with or without  geocaching, lately my option is to take the point & shoot instead of the DSLR. Is not just a question of carrying less weight but a matter of being more practical and quick. If I go with the intention of enjoying a walk, in which I also do caches, it doesn't make sense to spend time, because you really spend it, doing photography.

With the point & shoot I bring some photos of the places without losing much time. Nevertheless I still end up with my two hands busy. Of course that the quality and technique of the pictures are inferior but all choices have their con. I try to mentalize myself that this way allows me to enjoy the moment, without being a slave of the equipment, and also a scouting of places.

Other times that I gave more importance to photography the feeling of not enjoying the place/moment was bigger. Lately I have been doing like this depending the time of the day and the trail. Lets see how much time I can bear using more the point & shoot.

About the route it was a short walking along the forest involving some caches, since it was late afternoon we only did the initial trail. It is a group of 80 caches which intents to show the Portuguese Interior Path of Santiago in the region of Viseu (CPIS-V). I don't know if this pathway has a lot of travellers, the landscape is not different from the usual, but the energy is very light along the trail, if you know what I mean!
